Hi, I’m Jennifer Li, founder of Lux Casa.
My journey has always been shaped by space, culture, and design. At 15, I moved from China to Canada for high school, where I first realised how culture and lifestyle leave their imprint on the home — from the way families gather, to how spaces are arranged. At 17, I came to Australia, and quickly fell in love with its open, natural way of living. That lifestyle resonated deeply with my own idea of “home”: a place of warmth, ease, and belonging.
My academic path at the University of Sydney’s Built Environment faculty gave me a solid foundation in architecture, materials, and spatial aesthetics. I immersed myself in design open days and exhibitions, learning that a home is never just a collection of furniture, but an interplay of textures, light, and thoughtful detail.
The turning point came during my student years abroad. My first room was bare, with white walls and little furniture — it felt isolating. Slowly, I added pieces that changed everything: a chair that embraced me, a lamp that warmed my evenings, a rug that softened the floor. I realised that furniture is not only functional, but emotional — shaping how we feel, and how we belong.
Later, during the pandemic, I returned to China and studied e-commerce and consumer behaviour. I saw the frustrations of online shopping: products not matching expectations, materials impossible to feel, poor service and long logistics. That experience convinced me that the furniture industry also needs a complete ecosystem — from excellent design and premium materials to efficient, transparent, and caring service.
So when the world reopened, I returned to Australia and created LuxCasa. My vision is threefold: good design that blends beauty with comfort, premium craftsmanship that stands the test of time, and full customisation that reflects individual lifestyles. I want clients not only to enjoy the aesthetic and comfort of our pieces, but to feel understood — to see their personality and way of living reflected in their home.
For clients, we offer more than furniture: we create a sense of belonging. For the community, we hope to be a space for sharing design inspiration and lifestyle ideas. For the industry, I want our work to push for a higher standard — one where furniture is not only designed, but deeply human, carrying both memory and emotion.
